Attachment types
The Attachment handling dialog controls how attachments of different types
are handled.

Each attachment type can be handled in one of five ways:
- Open (using MS Word). The attachment is opened in MS Word. The Word
conversion/import filters for the specified attachment type must be
installed for the more unusual extensions (.WRI, .WPS, .MCW, .WPD) to work successfully, otherwise the file may
appear as garbage when Word reads it
- Handle manually. Any attachments that can be handled automatically will
be. The email is treated as though it has not been processed, so the email
will not be moved to a new folder and the subject line will not be changed.
The attachments is logged in the exception report of the status window. This
option is most useful for compressed attachments such as .zip files
- Ignore. This is the default for an unlisted attachment type. The
attachment is treated as though it doesn't exist.
- Print to default printer. This option is very handy for printing
Adobe .PDF files, because these files cannot have information automatically
extracted from them (particularly if the document author disabled this option). PDF files can only be scanned or OCRed (Optical Character
Recognition) after being printed. The attachment is saved to the manual
handling folder before being printed, this folder is usually <file:///C:/Program
Files/ResumePipe/Manual/>. This folder can be changed on the
Files tab. A copy of the full email extract is also
saved to this folder, with the same filename but an extension of .txt added.
- Save to ResumePipe's 'manual' folder. This option is very handy for
dealing with attachments that require manual intervention - they get saved to
the manual handling folder, usually <file:///C:/Program
Files/ResumePipe/Manual/>. This folder can be changed on the
Files tab. A copy of the full email extract is also
saved to this folder, with the same filename but an extension of .txt added.
- Open (without using Word). The attachment is opened as is, and sent
to TextPipe without any further processing. This is typically used for text
and HTML file types.
By default, any unlisted attachment types are ignored. Multiple entries for
the same attachment type are ignored - the first match found is used.
