Macros

Macros can be placed in several fields to insert email- and attachment-specific information. The following macros can be used:

Macro Definition Allowed in...
%FILENAME The attachment's filename. Attachment header or footer ONLY
%SUBJECT The subject line of the email containing the attachment Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%FROM Who sent the email containing the attachment Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%SENT The date the email containing the attachment was sent Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%TO The email address of the person the email was sent to. MAPI/Outlook limits this field to 255 characters. Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%CC The email address of the person the email was CC'd to. MAPI/Outlook limits this field to 255 characters. Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%BCC The email address of the person the email was BCC:'d to. Note: If you did not send the original message, the BCC list will be blank. MAPI/Outlook limits this field to 255 characters. Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%NOW Today's date, in YYYYMMDD format Filename format, Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%NUMBER The filename number of the email being processed. Manual filename format, Email header and footer, Attachment header and footer
%d, %5.5d etc The filename number of the email being processed. Filename format ONLY.
  1. You can follow the macro name with a % sign if necessary to separate it from text that follows e.g. "%FILENAME%hello". 
  2. You can use a double % (i.e. %%) to prevent the text that follows it from being interpreted as a macro name e.g. "%%FROM" results in an output of "%FROM".
  3. Invalid macro names are ignored, and are left unsubtituted (e.g. %SENDDATE will be left as %SENDDATE)
